Materials including the
presentation, recording, and
Q & A document are now available from a July 11, 2018 webinar
hosted by ASPR TRACIE. The webinar focused on the impact of
different radiological incidents and planning strategies for
each.
The federal Health and Human Services Office of the Assistant
Secretary for Preparedness and Response has issued
a fact
sheet addressing frequently asked questions about the
Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) and disasters.
The fact sheet includes updated information on addressing patient
surge without an EMTALA waiver, as well as links to other
resources and additional information.

TRACIE interviewed these Kaiser staff members about their
personal encounter with the wildfire and professional ordeal
evacuating a hospital in the midst of one.
ASPR developed a
new page to highlight select tools and other HCC resources,
including the 50+ HCC plans and templates received by ASPR TRACIE
and vetted through Subject Matter Expert Cadre. They will
continue to develop new tools and templates as
requested/needed.

facility executives in assisting staff through the recovery
period.
