Disasters occur in many forms — the only certainty is that they
will happen.
The Disaster Planning for California Hospitals annual conference
guides hospitals and health systems through the preparation of
these inevitable events, regardless of type. Planning ahead
translates to limited business disruption, personnel safety,
maintained data integrity, and establishes clear roles
and responsibilities during and after disasters.
More than 800 people — including hospital staff, local, state and
federal officials – gathered this week in Sacramento
(see photo gallery) to strengthen hospital disaster
preparedness and build collaboration to ensure continuity of
care. The conference theme – Get Ready, Stay Ready –
highlighted readiness and resilience in the aftermath of a
disaster.
